A name or place entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

An email sent to us may be retained so it can be answered. We keep the message within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

The site explains how to locate records held by the Monroe County Sheriff, the proper court clerk, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a third-party criminal-history file.

Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on this website. Their own privacy policies, retention schedules, and sharing practices apply to information submitted through those tools. We do not control those policies, so review the provider's terms before entering a query.

Links may lead to Monroe County offices, New York court systems, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or third-party tools. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy policy controls that visit. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking occurs through the advertiser's systems rather than ours.
